Boston's big three of shortstop Marcelo Mayer, outfielder Roman Anthony and catcher Kyle Teel are set to lead the Red Sox into their matchup with the Braves prospects. None of the trio has played above Double-A and will get a chance to play in a park with identical dimensions to Boston's Fenway Park on Saturday.
Right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach tops the pitchers available for the Braves on Saturday while shortstop Nacho Alvarez Jr., a 20-year-old who hasn't moved past High-A, is their top-rated position prospect. Catcher Drake Baldwin is 22 and already has some time in Triple-A. Both Alvarez and Baldwin have gotten a taste of the big-league camp as non-roster invitees.
Red Sox prospect Ceddanne Rafaela, who has three homers in spring training, will also play in the game. He came up to the majors in late August last season and slashed .241/.281/.386 with two homers and five RBI in 28 games.
